Station 54 Fire Division

Coverage Area: Stewartstown & Cross Roads Boroughs, Hopewell & East Hopewell Township. Over 10,500 citizens. Over 50 square miles.

Staffing: Professionally staffed by 100% Volunteer Fire Fighters. There are currently over 35 active members in our Fire Division at Eureka. Many are State and Nationally certified Fire Fighter I or II, Fire Officer I, and/or HazMat Operations. Many are also PA Department of Health Certified Vehicle Rescue Technicians, EMT's or Paramedics. Eureka is compliant with FEMA's mandate for National Incident Management training.

Our apparatus consists of: 3 engines, 2 tankers, 1 truck, 2 brush, 1 service (fire police unit) and 1 utility (command unit). We respond to an average of 390 calls per year and we average 15 members per call. Many man hours are put in for: training, fund raising, meetings, traffic control for special events, fire prevention and fire safety demonstrations throughout the year.

With Brush 54, we assist our EMS Division as a PA Department of Health licensed Q.R.S. (Quick Response Service) when needed. This unit carries basic life support equipment and supplies such as an Automatic External Defibulator (AED), suction, splints, oxygen, etc.

We provide mutual aid to our neighboring communities when called upon and we welcome their assistance when we need it. As our station motto states “NO JOB TOO SMALL”.

Eureka has proudly served the area since 1906 and we will continue to PROTECT and SERVE for many years to come. Eureka’s Bravest are ready and willing to answer any call that comes in. We train hard so that every fire fighter goes home safe.

Pennsylvania Participating Department Program

Purpose: To recognize those organizations that support, promote, and encourage their emergency response personnel to voluntarily certify within the Commonwealth’s Certification Program administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.

Eureka is recognized at the 50% participating level which means over 50% of our fire fighters have achieved a state/national certification in fire fighting, hazardous materials, or rescue.
