Nov 1, 2007, #383, Residential Structure Fire
Dispatched at
04:36 for a Residential Structure Fire in Cross Roads Borough,
Box 54-07. Crews began responding at 04:38 with crews arriving
on scene at 04:48.
Chief 54
responded and was advised the former chief from Station 45 was
on scene and was reporting a working fire. Chief 54 immediately
requested 2 additional tankers. C54 arrived on scene,
established Command 54 and reported a well involved fire.
Engine 54-2
arrived and laid a 4" supply line over 1400' down the driveway.
Tanker 54-1 followed in and fed E54-2. Tanker 43 set up at the
end of the driveway as a nurse tanker feeding the supply line.
Crews attacked
the fire with 2x 2" attack lines and a 3" BlitzFire. Engine 45
arrived and assisted with scene lighting and crews to help with
the attack and ventilation. Crews ventilated the roof on Side A
near Side B. Water supply was established by Engine 54-3 and
tankers began shuttling water to the scene.
The fire was
under control at 05:16. PA State Police assisted with the
investigation. Cause was determined to be a faulty oil furnace.
No injuries reported.
Mutual aid was
provided by stations 34, 35, 39, 43, 45, and 56. Station 55 filled in for Eureka until we cleared the call.
Units from Eureka
included Engine 54-2, Engine 54-3, Truck 54, Tanker 54-1, Tanker
54-2, Brush 54-2, Ambulance 54-1 and Ambulance 54-2. 22 members
made the call.
