Engine 54-4

1990 White AutoCar Engine

Engine 54-4 serves primarily as a rural water supply unit. With the lack of hydrants over 95% of our first due area, Engine 54-4 takes advantage of alternative water sources (i.e. ponds, reservoirs, creeks and/or rivers), and carries enough supply hose to reach a site over a 1/2 mile away from the water source. Engine 54-4 is also equipped to assist with wild land fires and is often used to provide mutual aid to neighboring stations.

Equipment highlights:

1750 GPM pump

750 gallon water tank

3600 feet of 4" supply hose

2 pre-connected 2" attack lines

1 pre-connected 3/4" forestry line

Ladders, hand tools, spare forestry line

Three 6" intake/suction connections (two side mount, one nose mount)

5 person crew capacity
